Preterist Framework

Preterist Framework v3.1 · 2026-08-26

This cluster argues a two-part thesis: that Christian theology emerged from an Essene seedbed rather than a Pharisaic one, and that the New Testament’s own eschatology — read on its own terms — announces a first-century consummation. The method is the “two axes”: timing (when did the NT say fulfillment would occur) held strictly separate from content (what kind of event was it), so that cosmic vocabulary is decoded by covenantal referent rather than by assumption. The notes build the case in layers: Essene origins evidence, the NT’s hermeneutic framework, the Daniel-hinged timing argument, a two-register lexicon for death and judgment language, and case studies of every major “torment” proof-text. Synthesis I consolidates the core cluster; Synthesis II extends it with reception history (patristic witnesses, the Jewish-Christian corpus, Nicaea’s calendar break). Each note is a self-contained argument with sources; links trace dependencies.
